Eligibility Criteria:
Nationality: A candidate must be an unmarried male or female and must be:
- A citizen of India, or
- A subject of Nepal, or
- A subject of Bhutan, or
- A Tibetan refugee who came to India before January 1, 1962, with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
- A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, and the East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, and Ethiopia or Vietnam, with the intention of permanently settling in India.
Age Limit: Only unmarried male and female candidates born between January 2, 2007, and January 1, 2010 (both dates inclusive), are eligible.
Educational Qualification:
- For Army Wing of National Defence Academy: Candidates must have passed the 12th Class or equivalent examination from a State Education Board or a University.
- For Air Force and Naval Wings of National Defence Academy and for the 10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme at the Indian Naval Academy: Candidates must have passed the 12th Class or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics from a State Education Board or a University.
- Candidates who are appearing in the 12th Class or equivalent examination are also eligible to apply. However, candidates appearing in the 11th class are not eligible.
Marital Status: Only unmarried candidates are eligible, and they must remain unmarried until the completion of their training.
Physical Standards: Candidates must meet the prescribed physical and medical standards laid down by the UPSC. This includes specific requirements for height, weight, and vision for different wings. For detailed physical standards, candidates should refer to the official notification.
Application Process:
The application process is entirely online and involves two parts through the UPSC's new Online Application Portal:
- One Time Registration (OTR): Candidates must first register on the OTR platform. This is a one-time registration process valid for all UPSC examinations.
- Filling the Online Application Form: After successful OTR, candidates can proceed to fill the detailed application form for NDA & NA (II) 2025. This involves providing personal details, educational qualifications, selecting preferences for different wings, and uploading scanned copies of photographs and signatures.
Application Fee:
- Rs. 100/- for General/OBC candidates.
- Exempted: SC/ST candidates, Female candidates, and Wards of JCOs/NCOs/ORs are exempted from fee payment.
- Fees can be paid online using Visa/Master/RuPay Credit/Debit Card/UPI Payment or through internet banking.
Selection Process:
The selection process for the NDA & NA (II) 2025 consists of two main stages:

Written Examination (900 Marks):
- The written exam comprises two objective-type papers:
- Paper I: Mathematics (300 Marks) - Duration: 2 hours 30 minutes
- Paper II: General Ability Test (GAT) (600 Marks) - Duration: 2 hours 30 minutes
- Both papers will be set in English and Hindi.
- There is negative marking for incorrect answers.
- Candidates must score at least 25% in each paper to qualify.

SSB Interview (900 Marks):
- Candidates who qualify the written examination will undergo a comprehensive Service Selection Board (SSB) Interview.
- The SSB interview is a two-stage process:
- Stage I: Officer Intelligence Rating (OIR) tests and Picture Perception & Description Test (PP&DT).
- Stage II: Includes Interview, Group Testing Officer (GTO) Tasks, Psychology Tests, and Conference.
The final merit list will be prepared based on the total marks obtained in the written examination and the SSB Interview.
