The SSC Stenographer Online Form 2025 has been released!

Computer-Based Examination Dates: August 6 to August 11, 2025
Vacancies: Approximately 261 vacancies have been announced for Stenographer Grade 'C' (Group 'B', Non-Gazetted) and Stenographer Grade 'D' (Group 'C').
Eligibility Criteria (as on August 1, 2025):
Educational Qualification:Candidates must have passed 12th standard or equivalent examination from a recognized Board or University.
Age Limit:
Stenographer Grade 'C': 18 to 30 years (Candidates born not before 02.08.1995 and not later than 01.08.2007 are eligible).
Stenographer Grade 'D': 18 to 27 years (Candidates born not before 02.08.1998 and not later than 01.08.2007 are eligible).
Age relaxations are applicable for various categories (SC/ST, OBC, PwBD, Ex-Servicemen, etc.) as per government rules.
Application Fee:
General/OBC/EWS: ₹100/-
Women, SC, ST, PwD, and Ex-Servicemen candidates: No fee.
The fee can be paid online through Credit Card, Debit Card, Net Banking, or UPI.
How to Apply:
Visit the official website of the Staff Selection Commission (SSC): https://ssc.gov.in.
If you are a new user, complete the One-Time Registration (OTR) process on the new SSC website.
Login with your registration ID and password.
Fill out the detailed application form, ensuring all information is accurate.
Upload scanned images of your photograph and signature as per the specifications. (Note: SSC has made changes to the photo upload process, it might require a live photo capture via webcam or the official SSC App).
Pay the application fee (if applicable) online.
Review the application form carefully before final submission.
Take a printout of the final submitted form for your records.
Selection Process:
The selection process for SSC Stenographer Grade C and D posts includes two stages:
Computer Based Test (CBT): This test consists of three sections:
General Intelligence & Reasoning
General Awareness
English Language & Comprehension
Total Marks: 200, Duration: 2 hours.
Negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.
Skill Test (Stenography): Candidates who qualify the CBT will appear for a skill test, which involves dictation and transcription.
Stenographer Grade C: Dictation at 100 words per minute (wpm) for 10 minutes. Transcription in English: 40 minutes, Hindi: 55 minutes.
Stenographer Grade D: Dictation at 80 words per minute (wpm) for 10 minutes. Transcription in English: 50 minutes, Hindi: 65 minutes.
